Chai Pe Charcha: With Sana Javeri Kadri

Break down barriers with us

Chai Pe Charcha is an intimate event series where all are welcome to ‘chat over chai’. This summer, Sana Javeri Kadri, founder of Diaspora Spice Co., joins us for a conversation about feminism and the hands that feed us, shape our traditions and hold communities together – without recognition or applause. For more than a decade, Sana has been challenging and changing the spice trade by building a fair and wholly transparent business, one that champions partner farmers across India while celebrating the stories behind the ingredients we cook with every day / that bring fragrance to our feasts / that perk up our palates.

These same values fill the pages of The Diaspora Spice Co. Cookbook. For years, Sana sat with mothers, grandmothers, home cooks and caregivers listening to their stories as recipes were shared. Together, their wisdom tells a richer story of food.

Come, join the chat, sip complimentary bottomless chai, and reflect on the hands and histories that shape us – knowingly or not.

Limited tickets – act with swiftness! (Kindly only book a spot if you can attend, so others don’t miss out.)

The full cost of all tickets (each ticket is £5) will go directly to Seeds of Peace, a non-political charity helping young people from conflict regions learn the skills of making peace. For over 30 years, they’ve brought together the next generation of leaders from across the world – nearly 9,000 Seeds of Peace alumni are united in fostering just and inclusive communities.
